Design for the power train and vehicle packaging is now in full swing. We have done some simulations on a typical leg of the Zero Race using a modified standard European driving cycle so that it fits the race course as accurately as possible. Range, acceleration and top speed values will be available soon once we have finalised the motor and gearing choices. But I can assure you they won’t disappoint!
With the kind help of Radical we are making alterations to the design of an SR3 chassis to fit in our electric motor(s) and other power train components. Mounting and distributing the weight of the batteries is not an easy job with the many cells and cabling needed. Water proofing, heat management as well as giving the car an optimal weight distribution for good handling are critical!
