Wow. How does the time of regen charging compare to actual charging? Sounds like it might be a lot faster. I'm assuming though that there might be a cost. My understanding is that fast charging hits battery life. I also thought that running batteries down to a low charge level really hit battery life too. It sounds though like you guys are very comfortable running your batteries down to a low level. Is that because your only using them for the relatively short time of your trip or is it something to do with the chemistry you are using? I think the Volt only uses half of the capacity of its pack for battery life reasons.

I'm following your trip and I really hope it all goes well. Good luck. Longer vids please. :-)

Dear RGET ,
we have had the pleasure of seeing the next photo instalments ,
which have left us " gob struck " from the sheer natural beauty .
We have noticed that there was no litter from Alaska
until Prince George , while in South Africa plastic bags
are scattered around the countryside as if they belong to the
National flora .
We were amused when you were accosted by the traffic
police in Smithers which prompted a whole lot of possible
tongue in cheek quips which could have been attached to the
corresponding photos .
We are glad that you have not lost your sense of humour
during the different trials that you have had , when we
observed the block of wood , which was presumably used as
a brake for the SRzero on the golf course .

Wishing you all the best from Ladysmith ( Kwazulu Natal )
in sunny South Africa , where we are expecting another
serious cold front from Antarctica , Charles and friends .

Can you blog daily now that you are in range of WiFi - it seems your blog is some days behind where you are? Even little blogs with a picture from a mobile phone are useful!

Dear RGET ,
after having studied and absorbed all the photos , we cannot
agree more with you , that words will not do any justice to

the scenery .
How do you manage to sleep at night with all these vivid
imagery flirting with your eyes ?

We presume that you have reached Vancouver and probably
enjoying the amenities of established cities .
Hopefully you will be able to restore your charging units
and stock up with the relevant tools and decent towbar for
future eventualities , exercise a thorough check on the
conditions of the SRzero , all other supporting equipment ,
including cameras and communication facilities , not
forgetting little items like toilet paper , water and
soap in the RV and other useful items which we usually ,
all take for granted .

We wish you all the best from Ladysmith ( Kwazulu Natal )
in early morning – 4 ºC , although sunny South Africa ,
Charles and friends .

Our family from Pennsylvania met your team on the flight into Anchorage. Caught up with your progress once we got back to civilization. Sounds like all is going well with enough challenges to keep it interesting. We will keep checking in. Best of luck on your adventure.

Love following the blog - this reminds me that loosing other team members cam be very stressful - we have learned that when we take our 4wds out into the desert to adopt the procedures that if we have to travel separately we set rendevous waypoints which are achivable and not too hard to backtrack. If travelling in convoy it becomes the responsibility for each vehicle to keep the one behind in sight. Lots of memories of travelling with ATA Carnets too! Best wishes - stay safe - have fun - write often!
