Thanks for the updates! I hope you make it to Mexico City.... You're leaving some suspense for tomorrow's update -- will they or won't they bring the car back to the break down point and start from there?
Also, what happened to Mr Palas? Did you forget him at the Mexican restaurant? Will you go back to retrieve him?
Who manufactures the dampers? Hopefully, they'll take your story and use it in the factory to beef up the design of the section of the damper that is failing.
 Nice job. Happy travels.

Dear RGET ,
do not labour too long on the necessary towing of the SRzero , if the place is unsafe , you get out “ by hook or by crook ” swiftly with your dignity , however for the sake of the purist you may always tow the SRzero back to the breakdown spot after it has been repaired and resume the Trip from there .

We hope that you tool up appropriately so that you may
exercise the necessary repairs to get you out of a fix ,
with a good mix , without forgetting the pix .

Your encounters with the people on the land seems to
confirm that basically no matter from which part of
the world they are , they seem to be hospitable and
friendly .

We wish you all the very best from Ladysmith ( Kwazulu
Natal ) in sunny South Africa , Charles and friends .
